Naming ceremonies
No more screaming babies!
Have fun with sand ceremonies, Mandala circles or any other loving commitment rituals, sharing your child's special day with friends and family.
Having a naming ceremony for your child (or pet, or boat or even motorbike) is a lovely way to celebrate your new arrival.
I will create a bespoke celebration to welcome your child, whether born or adopted, into the family, allowing you to publicly declare your love and commitment to them, and introduce them to family and friends.
My naming ceremony would typically include:
Introduction and Welcome: I will welcome the child, parents, and guests.
Readings and Music: Readings, poems, or songs that are meaningful or personal to you and read or recited by me and/or family friends.
Naming the Child: You, as parents, or I, will formally announce the child's name and welcome them into the family.
Promises: You as parents will make promises to your child, outlining how you will nurture and support them.
Guideparents: Your child's Guideparents or supporting siblings may also make promises of support and guidance to the child.
Fun and symbolic rituals: Popular rituals include sand blessing - to blend your family members, creating a tree of promises, advice, or good wishes, candle lighting or a Mandala circle, to create a deep spiritual connection. You could also include a presentation, such as a gift or artwork from siblings.
Signing the Commemorative Certificate: I will provide a certificate to be signed by you, the child's Guideparents, and myself, to save as a keepsake of the occasion.
Closing Words: I will conclude with final remarks.
